What do you get when you mix children, a circus festival, an amusement park and a birthday cake? Chaos. That’s what.
There were children in my house this weekend – they were family, so they were allowed to be there…but still – weird to have little girls running around the house. 🙂 And they have strange habits too – they want tomatoes and fruit instead of candy, they get frustrated if mommy doesn’t brush their teeth enough, they drink milk and water… Pretty funny actually. And they talk too and “use their words”. It’s all very very strange. It’s GOOD, but not your usual kid-behaviour… These aren’t the kids you see on TV…
My sister and my two nieces arrived Friday afternoon and left on Monday. The weather was scheduled to be gloomy (clouds, rain showers) on Saturday, so we decided to visit Canada’s Wonderland (amusement park in Toronto) on Sunday. On Saturday we went to the circus festival at the Harbourfront. And Monday morning was Sienna’s early birthday celebration. How we packed so much into two and a half days is beyond me… Here’s the recap:
Saturday – Circus festival

Dudes on stilts! This guy passed by Sienna and Maddie and said they could grow this tall too if they ate their broccoli..then he joked that they'll probably never eat broccoli again. LOL 🙂

Well, if I hadn’t forgotten my memory card in my laptop, I’d have pics to post here… Since that’s not the case, here’s a quick recap: Arrived at park at lunchtime and after lots of walking and waiting, finally had lunch. Then came the rides – we stayed in the Peanuts/Snoopy area and went on various kiddie rides. It was pretty fun. Sienna went on the kiddie roller coaster and was so wired afterwards..I .never saw a kid bouncing up and down like she did – she was so excited! An adrenaline junkie in the making! We also went on the carousel and the girls were quite happy to ride the horsies. Sienna gave a hug and kiss to her horsie before leaving the ride. 🙂 We left the park quite late – about 9:45pm.
Sienna’s early birthday
The girls and I made a birthday cake. It’s supposed to be a butterfly cake. The decorations got a tad out of control but it still turned out pretty good:
