I was looking forward to my grocery shopping trip today because I’d be buying items on the rebate list for Checkout51.com that would push my total over the $20 mark ($22.75 to be exact) and I’d be able to request a cheque (which I did when I got home :)).
Value of products: $123.10
Paid out of pocket: $86.30
Savings of: 36.80 (or 30%)
Since the beginning of my experiment, I’ve been maintaining a spreadsheet of my progress and downloaded comparatives for all our “grocery transactions” from last year to monitor how I’m doing compared to last year. As of this week, I’m about $800 ahead. Crazy right? We spent 12k on groceries last year. How can that be when it’s just by husband and I, you ask? Well, we’re foodies and always will be. But now we’re smart foodies. 🙂 With extra funds! To spend on other fun things. Like wine. 😀
Don’t judge. me.
Good deals this week:
Activia 8-pk on sale for $2.88 (from $3.99), with $2 coupon WUB2 = $4.76
Got a Kraft grated parmesan for FREE with the Kraft First Taste coupon (valued at $4.49)
I saved $15.24 using coupons + $6 on Checkout51 rebates.
I’ve also been trying out Fresh Points to see how it goes – too early to tell yet.
I’ve created a monster. 🙂
