We’ve started our local adventure series (i.e. discover our city and its various surrounding neigborhoods and restaurants) by heading down to Port Credit (15 minutes away) and enjoyed a nice walk along Lake Ontario. They have great trails and park/picnic areas all along the lake near the marina. It was really beautiful.

You can see downtown TO and the CN tower in the distance

Chris and I aren’t boat people – it’s not something we’ve ever been interested in, although they’re nice to watch.

Ducks and geese and swans, oh my!

A mom and her daughter were having fun feeding the ducks/geese/swans.  It was a gorgeous day, sunny, hot, peaceful by the water…

We continued our walk along the water, and crossed a bridge where we saw a lot more ducks and geese swimming aong…like a little army. It was so funny.

After the park, we headed over to Oakville and ended up having an amazing lunch at Colossus, a greek taverna. It was such a nice cozy little place and we smelled the oregano when we walked by, then turned around and decided to try it. It was actually really good! They brought bread and two dippers (olive oil+balsamic vin, oil and minced garlic) with white bread and dark brown bread. We shared a small pikilia which is a mix of a bunch of different appetizers (spanakopita, feta cheese, olives, fava beans in tomato sauce, dolmades, pita wedges with 4 different dips (tzatziki, eggplant dip, hummus and taramosalata) – very good. We both ordered the same entree – chicken souvlaki plate with lemon potatoes, rice pilaf, greek salad and tzatziki. Yumm!

Got back home and spent some time out back and in the pool. Aaaaah, the good life.

We vowed to try a different resto and visit a different neighborhood every few weekends. We know Montreal inside and out since we spent a lifetime there – and since we moved to TO almost 2 years ago now, it’s about time we start to familiarize ourselves with our surroundings. 🙂 More adventures to come!
